In 2019, Derbent Maden Inc. started manufacturing block marbles in Saraylar, Marmara.
Having started its mining activities in 1940s, Dereli Family has been operating in the mining industry for three generations. The first enterprise by the Dereli Family on the Marmara Island started by supplying dolomite from Saraylar to the glass factories. Dereli Family continues its operations on Marmara Island through Dereli Mermer Granit Maden A. Ş. in the chipped calcite industry and through Derbent Maden A.Ş. in the block marble industry.
